Summer Reading Kick-off Event

Music of the Forest with the Chattahoochee Nature Center

Summer Reading Kick-off
Music of the Forest with the Chattahoochee Nature Center
All ages
Friday, May 25th, 11:00am-Noon
This program will take place in the Magnolia Room at the Smyrna Community Center.

We know that Libraries Rock, but did you know that the forest rocks too? Join us as we explore the Music of the Forest with Chattahoochee Nature Center! Using three self-guided stations, experience how bats use echolocation in their nighttime habitat. Try your ear at matching frog calls just like amphibians in Georgia’s ponds and lakes. Try to identify songs of common birds in your neighborhood. Join a CNC naturalist for an encounter with a native, non-releasable raptor and learn how this bird uses sound to survive. We’ll also have a craft station where you can make a musical instrument to play at home and, of course, we’ll have summer reading sign-up.

Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Daycares, schools, homeschool groups and other caregiver groups should please consult our group visit guidelines when planning a trip to Smyrna Library.

Sponsored by Smyrna Public Library and the Friends of Smyrna Public Library.
