Tinker Tuesday offers hands-on building activities for kids and adults working together. (Please no daycare groups.)
The library's goal for Tinker Tuesday is to provide an opportunity for an adult and a child to learn together and work collaboratively to solve a problem or create something new. Tinker Tuesday is not a drop-in program for all ages. It is designed to be a one-to-one learning experience for elementary-age children and their parent/caregiver. The activities are too complex for children under five years old.
April 16, 2019 - Explore Food Webs for Earth Day
We will dissect owl pellets to illustrate the nature of food chains and to demonstrate the role of predators in the ecosystem. Goggles and gloves will be provided if desired, but the pellets are sanitized.
Supplies for Tinker Tuesday were purchased with generous grants from the Friends of Smyrna Library, Gas South, Croy Engineering, Advanced Disposal and Google Fiber.
