Smyrna’s new History Museum and the new Smyrna Historical Society

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about Smyrna’s new History Museum AND the new Smyrna Historical Society.

On Saturday June 15th, in the Smyrna Library 1st floor meeting room, we will host a Collections Event; noon to 4:00 pm. We are actively seeking artifacts, photos, and documents that relate to Smyrna and its people. We have already received many fascinating collectibles, including Native American pieces, wonderful old photos, early railroad items, farm implements, and so much more.  And remember, if do not wish to part with photos and documents, we can scan and return them to you.

Details concerning membership and volunteer opportunities will also be available at both events, and someone will be on hand to answer questions about our early settlers, Aunt Fanny’s Cabin, the Reed House, Taylor-Brawner House, Brawner Hospital, the Concord Covered Bridge, Belmont Farm, the Gautchey House, Rose Distillery and other local historic places.

If you love history, or just want to know more about your community, mark your calendar and don’t miss this opportunity!
