Join us for an inspiring and creative workshop that combines the fun of gelli printmaking with Juneteenth celebrations. We will be creating vibrant, multi-layered prints using gelli plates, acrylic paints, and various texturing tools. You'll have the opportunity to incorporate African patterns, symbols, or portraits of notable Black figures into your artwork, making each piece a unique celebration of Black culture and history.
No prior art experience is necessary – this workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike. Come ready to learn, create, and be inspired by the stories and artistic traditions of the Black community.
Instructor: Sophia Yee is a Graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Fine Arts. Ms. Yee is a certified art teacher with a passion for bringing creative experiences to the community.
