Description of the Presentation:
In this class, award-winning photographer Nathan Dean will share five simple and basic steps that will help your photo tell the story you want it to tell. They take only seconds, but they will help you make a photograph, rather than just a snapshot. Feel free to bring your camera!

Be sure to enjoy Nathan Dean's photography on exhibit in the library's upstairs gallery in September and October, 2025.

Speaker Bio:
Nathan Dean has always loved photography, traveling and photographing in over 80 countries during a distinguished academic career as a physics professor, a dean of science, a vice provost, and a university vice president. Since he retired and turned his attention fully to photography, his works have been acquired by collectors, published in national media, invited to appear in numerous solo and small-group shows, and accepted into over seventy juried shows, winning numerous awards. He has taught photography at the Buckhead Library, where he has been co-director of the art program, as well as Emory’s life-long learning program and elsewhere. He lives with his wife Mary Fetzer Dean in Atlanta.
