The City of Smyrna has tentatively adopted a 2025 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 0.60 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at 2800 King Street SE, Smyrna, Georgia, Smyrna City Hall Council Chambers on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 8:30 AM.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at 2800 King Street SE, Smyrna, Georgia, Smyrna City Hall Council Chambers on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 8:30 AM and at 6:30 PM.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 8.990 mills, an increase of 0.054 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 8.936 mills. The proposed tax increase for a homestead property with a fair market value of $525,000 is approximately $10.80 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $775,000 is approximately $16.74.

The City of Smyrna Mayor and Council does hereby announce that the millage rate will be set at a meeting to be held at the Smyrna City Hall Council Chambers, located at 2800 King Street SE, Smyrna, Georgia, on July 21, 2025 at 6:30 PM, and pursuant to the requirements of O.C.G.A Section 48-5-32 does hereby publish the following presentation of the current year's tax digest and levy, along with the history of the tax digest and levy for the past five years.
