Description: This lecture explores the dynamic landscape of contemporary African American Art , highlighting how artists weave together history, identity, and cultural narratives in visual expressions of art. Together we will explore the ways the artist challenges conventions, celebrates heritage, community and culture in their work.
Presenter: Nicole Webb, Smyrna Arts Council Board Member
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Nicole has been a resident of Smyrna, Georgia for 4.5 years. Professionally, she works in the CPG industry at PepsiCo (Frito Lay). When she is not working to deliver smiles (and snacks) to the consumers, she enjoys traveling and experiencing visual, performing, and literary art. She works on the Smyrna Arts Council in their effort to make art accessible to our community by supporting local artists.
