Join us for a hands-on program designed to teach community members how to conserve water and reduce runoff by collecting rainwater for outdoor use. Participants take part in assembling a rain barrel by learning how to install key components like spigots, overflow valves, and mesh screens to keep out debris and insects. The participants take home a rain barrel along with instructions about proper placement, maintenance tips and safe use of rainwater.

The workshop is free of charge. All supplies are provided by Cobb County Watershed and Smyrna Public Library. The workshop is outside, so please use sunscreen and wear clothes/shoes that can get wet/dirty.

Class size is limited to 10. (If you or someone in your household has participated in the Rain Barrel Workshop previously, please do not sign up.)

Workshop will take place on the playground lawn next to the Community Center.
