Facilities Update - Recycling and Library
Recycling Center and Smyrna Public Library Operations Update
We have received several questions about when the Recycling Center and the Smyrna Public Library will resume operations.
Materials reservation and curbside pickup have been tested this morning at the Library and a system is now in place. Please place items on hold with your library card and pick up when ready. The full set of steps and instructions are posted at https://www.smyrnaga.gov/…/departme…/curbside-pickup-service and announcements on social media will be rolling out between now and Wednesday of this week.
The Recycling Center will begin offering appointments Friday, May 29 on Fridays and Saturdays. A reservation system link will be available later this week on the City website page for Environmental Services, on a website calendar listing, and on the Keep Smyrna Beautiful website and social media accounts. On Fridays and Saturdays, beginning Friday May 29, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. the Recycling Center will begin accepting – by reservation only - 10 vehicles an hour for recycling (last appoint slots 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.). (Update Thurs., May 21 - the reservation system is active and may be found at https://keepsmyrnabeautiful.com/recycling-center/ )
As these facilities begin operations, please work with us by following directions that are posted now and/or will be in posted very soon.
Please bear with us as we work through details of safely phasing in facility-based services, particularly those with direct contact components, as is the case with the Recycling Center and with the Library. Thank you for your cooperation and your patience!
