COVID-19 Testing in Smyrna at CVS Announced / #GetTestedSmyrna #SmyrnaStrong

Beginning May 22, CVS Health will begin offering self-swab tests in Georgia – two locations in Smyrna - to individuals meeting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria. The City of Smyrna is also working with the Department of Public Health to set up a pop-up testing site within Smyrna (more on that in a later announcement). Please share this post and information as testing is critical to managing the spread of the virus and finding a path to safely reopen the economy. We encourage citizens to take advantage of these expanded testing opportunities, particularly for individuals in a high-risk demographic or for people who are experiencing symptoms. Read on for where to go for information and how/where to register and to go for the test.

Thank you to @CVSHealth for bringing #COVID19 testing to our community at two locations beginning Friday, May 22 with self-swab tests to individuals meeting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria. Patients must register in advance at CVS.com to schedule an appointment for the self-swab tests at a CVS Pharmacy location - through the pharmacy drive-thru window.

What to expect? Go to https://www.cvs.com/minuteclinic/covid-19-testing and answer a few questions. Select a test site and available time. Fill out a registration form. Take proof of identity and in-state residence as well as your test confirmation email or text message with you. When you arrive, stay in your car and follow the posted instructions at the site. There are two locations in Smyrna:

  • 4345 South Cobb Drive, SE Smyrna GA 30080
  • 2994 Atlanta Road Smyrna, GA 30080

More information about the CVS testing and appointments are available at https://www.cvs.com/minuteclinic/covid-19-testing including an list of frequently asked questions

We understand that the test should be covered by insurance, however, under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act approved by Congress, patients will not have any out of pocket costs with their insurance.  Uninsured patients will be covered under a program funded by the Department of Health and Human Services. At test sites located at CVS stores, insurance is accepted. Please bring your insurance information with you. Patients should not have any out-of-pocket costs, but you should check with your health plan to confirm scheduling a test. If you do not have insurance, bring your Social Security number (card not needed), driver's license or state ID.
