City Operations During Ice Storm (beginning Sat., Jan. 24, 2026

Sun., Jan, 25 3:15 pm: City of Smyrna will be closed Monday, January 26. Employees will work remotely as appropriate. Essential personnel report as conditions dictate.

There will be no yard waste collection on Monday. Collection will be mixed in with regular sanitation collection routes beginning on Tuesday with anticipation of making all collections by the end of the week.

Library - Materials will not be due. Do not worry about overdue fines. Story Time for Tuesday, January 27 is cancelled. Tween Night has been moved to Wednesday, January 28.

Sat., Jan 24: Ice Storm Warning issued January 24 at 10:04 am EST until January 26 at 10:00 am EST by NWS Peachtree City GA. Freezing rain should start in the Smyrna area between 4pm and 6pm. Ice accumulations are still expected to be between 0.25” and 0.5” with wind gusts picking up Sunday morning. Temperatures drop significantly Sunday night, leaving us at or below freezing through Monday and Tuesday.

Sat., Jan. 24:   All City facilities close at 2:00 pm today and remain closed through the weekend. The Library materials will not be due this weekend - no overdue fines.
