A walking trail meanders through an arboretum and circles a nearby pond. Next to that is the Smyrna Public Library and Community Center. City Hall lends a civic presence that makes handling City business fast and simple.

Downtown, however, is just the beginning of the amenities that Smyrna offers. An extensive parks system provides a multitude of recreational opportunities. Fire Suppression:	The Smyrna Fire Department’s commitment to excellence helped it secure an ISO rating of 2 in 2010, which places SFD in the top 2% of Georgia fire departments.
Medical Services:	All SFD personnel are also trained as paramedics. This dual training ensures that every medical emergency call is answered with an Advanced Life Support response.
Public Safety Education:	SFD staff regularly provides community training on topics such as CPR/First Aid, fire safety education, and disaster preparedness.

Public Schools

Public schools serving the City of Smyrna are among the best in the nation. Smyrna schools are managed by the Cobb County School District, and they include eight (8) public elementary schools, two (2) public secondary schools, one (1) public high school and one (1) public charter school. In 2010, Campbell High School ranked 568 in Newsweek's America's Best High Schools; only six percent of all public schools in the country made the list. Educators and students alike are supported by the recently incorporated Smyrna Education Foundation.
