Citywide Water Meter Replacement Project
The City of Smyrna Water & Sewer Division has begun replacing all City water meters. This citywide project is an investment in modernizing our water infrastructure and improving the reliability and accuracy of our water system.
To help ensure an efficient installation process, the project will be completed in sections throughout the city. Residents will receive additional information before work begins in their area. We estimate the project will take until late 2027 to complete.
Work will be performed Monday - Friday, between the hours of 7 AM and 6 PM (No work will be performed on holidays or weekends.)
What to Expect
All water meters located in the public right-of-way will be replaced.
Work will be completed in designated sections of the city rather than throughout the entire city at once.
Public Works will restore any disturbed areas once work is complete.
If you have private improvements located within the public right-of-way—such as irrigation systems, landscape lighting, invisible pet fence wiring, or similar utilities—please mark or relocate them before work begins. Per City Ordinance Section 90-4, the City of Smyrna is not responsible for repairs to privately installed utilities located within the public right-of-way.
Temporary water service interruptions may occur during your meter replacement. Crews will work to restore service as quickly as possible.
Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions and complete the work safely and efficiently.

Take Stephens or Bank Street to access the drive-up window off Village Walk. Please have your bill with you to facilitate a quicker transaction. There are two night drop locations. One is just beyond the drive-up window, and one is in the parking lot behind the drive-up window. Both are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
