Village Green Park - Restroom and Playground Construction

Village Green Park is getting a new bathroom facility located by the splash pad as well as a new 2 - 5 year old playground. A shade structure and granite seat wall be added adjacent to the area. The splash pad will be getting improvements with the removal of the water feature and the addition of more water jets. This project is projected to be completed in the Summer of 2025.

Creatwood Park - Renovation

Creatwood Park is getting a full renovation with a new playground, an age-diverse swing set, as well as a timber frame pavilion with seating. Additionally, there will be a grass activity lawn and the relocation of a dog waste station and tiny library. This project is projected to be completed in the early summer of 2025.

River Line Park - Splash Pad

Construction begins this spring for the River Line Splashpad. This facility is projected to be opened by Spring 2026. The splashpad will include a building with restrooms and concessions along with shade structures.

Tolleson Park Pool

After 60 years of service, it’s time to rebuild our beloved city pool. We are excited to announce that the renovation and reconstruction of Tolleson Pool is underway. While we are planning the new pool design, we are completing demolition of the site now to ensure we will have a ready site when we have a plan finalized. Our target is to begin construction in the early part of 2026. As of today, the plans include an 8-lane competition pool, family recreational pool, water slide, and a kid's play area. Along with these pool features there is a full concessions area, locker rooms, shade cabanas and meeting/party room being considered.

Early estimates have the project costing between $16 - $18 million. It will be financed through Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The anticipated construction timeline indicates completion in early summer 2027.

New Lighting and Netting at Baseball Fields 

New LED lighting and netting are being installed at Brinkley, Jonquil and River Line Park.

Landscaping

Over the course of the year there will be new trees planted at Chuck Camp, Brinkley, Taylor-Brawner and North Cooper Lake Park. Landscaping will be added to the playgrounds at Taylor-Brawner and Chuck Camp Park.
