The Smyrna History Museum is undergoing a redesign of its exhibits. We are looking for original photos of Smyrna history as well as objects to put on display.

We can digitally scan your photos so you can keep the original. All objects that are accepted for donation will be fully catalogued and stored in a climate controlled environment in acid-free containers.

If you think you have something of interest, please contact Museum Manager, Jennie Eldredge at (678) 631-5423.

Smyrna History Museum closes to the public for Exhibits Renovation

The Smyrna History Museum will be undergoing a complete renovation to its exhibits. This renovation will bring a chronological, narrative layout to the museum that will be accessible to all visitors.

The Museum Manager, Jennie Eldredge, will transition into a full-time position to oversee these projects.

Building Four Fabrication in Chamblee, GA has been selected through the RFP process to design, build and install these new exhibits. A timeline of the proposed renovation project will soon be released.

In preparation for the renovation project, the Smyrna History Museum closes to the public on Monday July 2, 2018.

The closing period will allow staff and volunteers time to clean up the museum storage space in preparation for the renovation.

The new Smyrna Historical Society, which was created to support and aid the museum in its operations, is playing a significant role in the museum’s renovation. If you are interested in helping, SHS is looking for volunteers at all levels, including board members. Please email them at smyrnahistoricalsociety@gmail.com  and let them know you want to help.
