Tim Gould

Ward 6 and Mayor Pro Tem - First Elected 2018

Tim Gould was elected to the Smyrna City Council in 2018 and serves as the Ward 6 Council Person and Mayor Pro Tem.  He is the Chair of the Council’s Education Committee and serves the Budget and Traffic Calming Committees.  Tim has served on a range of Task Forces including Arts & Culture, Downtown Redesign Details, Townhome Standards, Short-term Rentals, Annexation and the Committee to Honor Fanny Williams.

Tim remains active in the Smyrna and Cobb County community as a member of the Honorary Commanders Class of '26, Leadership Cobb Alumni Assoc. (LC '23), Smyrna Business Association, and Cobb County Chamber of Commerce.   He serves on the Smyrna Business Association Board, Campbell High School Education Foundation, and Campbell Middle School Principal Advisory Committee.

Professionally, Tim is a partner of Fordham Plastics Equipment Corp and ZAG Equipment Sales Inc.  Both companies market capital equipment to the manufacturing industry.   He is President of ZAG, actively managing a growing small business providing technical services including recycling and automaton systems.

After graduating from the University of Buffalo with a degree in mechanical engineering, Tim obtained an MBA from Fordham University while working in New York.  In 1996, he relocated to Georgia and earned his Professional Engineering License.   

Tim and his wife Judy have lived in the Smyrna / Mableton area for 23 years, and for the last 13 years in the Olde Vinings Mill neighborhood with their two children, Abbie (21, senior at GA Tech) and Jack (20, second year at Rhode Island School of Design), both graduates from Campbell High School.   He is an active member of St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church and is the Chair of St. Benedict’s School Board of Trustees.  Tim works tirelessly to address the needs of Smyrna residents and enhance quality of life in our community.
