Rickey N. Oglesby, Jr. has been a proud resident of Smyrna, GA for over 15 years.  His children attend Cobb County Public Schools, where he remains a strong advocate for public education and family-centered community values.

Rickey holds a bachelor’s degree in history/political science from Paine College, and a Master of Business Administration from South University.  He is currently expanding his financial expertise through Emory University's Certified Financial Planner program.

Professionally, Rickey brings years of financial experience from his tenure as a private banker and Assistant Vice President SFO II, LIT at a major financial institution.  Today, he serves as the majority owner of the Indigo Room, a full-service jazz restaurant located in the heart of Smyrna, celebrating local culture, cuisine, and live music.

A Georgia National Guard veteran, Rickey served as a Human Intellligence Collector, where he developed leadership and analytical skills that continue to inform his work in both business and public service. 

Rickey's passion lies in community service, particularly supporting public schools, youth athletics, and local businesses.  He volunteers as a track coach for the Smyrna Elite Track Team, and serves on the Nickajack Elementary School Principal's Advisory Board.
