Fire Chief
Brian Marcos is a twenty-year veteran of the fire service, proudly stewarding the esteemed reputation of the Smyrna Fire Department. He embraces his true role as Chief Obstacle Remover, thriving as part of a dynamic team dedicated to leading with vision, developing
talent, and delivering outstanding results. His influence extends across Georgia, earning him honors as one of the 50 Most Influential Hispanics in Georgia (2025), Career Fire Chief of the Year by the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs, and one of Cobb Life Magazine's "20 under 40."
A dedicated advocate for collaboration, Brian serves on the Boards of Directors for LiveSafe Resource, The Warrior Alliance, and The Cobb Chamber of Commerce Council. He is the Georgia State Director for the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs, founder and President of the United Leadership Program, and Area 7 District Vice President for the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. He graduated from the 2017 Leadership Cobb Program and served as its 2024 Co-Chair.
Brian's expertise is reinforced by advanced education, including the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative at Harvard University, the Executive Leadership Program at Kennesaw State University, the National Security Seminar at the Army War College, a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration, and a master’s in Public Administration from Columbia Southern University.
