Eric Mohrmann

The Deputy Fire Chief of Emergency Services performs functions in alignment with the vision and purpose of the Smyrna Fire Department and the Fire Chief. He develops and manages annual department budgets, collaborates with the Fire Chief to hire, train, assign, direct, supervise, evaluate, and discipline personnel. Implements and operationalizes emergency management directives.

Ensures that critical data, process indicators, and outcomes are properly collected and used to inform improvement and decision making; develops and implements goals, objectives, and performance measures. Monitors the status of department operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness; resolves work problems and issues. Responds to questions and concerns from the Fire Chief, elected and appointed officials, department staff, members of the news media, and members of the public.

Responds to emergency situations as needed. Performs the duties of the Fire Chief and Director of Emergency Management in his absence. Develops and implements department policies and procedures. Performs related duties as assigned.

Eric Mohrmann began his career with the Smyrna Fire Department in 2003. He was promoted to Engineer in 2007, where he served as an Apparatus Operator. In 2011, he was promoted to Lieutenant, serving as a Station Officer. He was promoted to Battalion Chief in 2016, as the shift commander for A-Shift.

In 2021, he was assigned as the Division Chief of Training. Starting in September of 2022, Eric was appointed to the position of Deputy Fire Chief and Deputy EMA Director. Deputy Chief Mohrmann has earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University, an associate degree in Fire Science from West Georgia Technical College and is a state certified Paramedic.

In 2021, he earned an Executive Certificate in Business Strategy credential from Kennesaw State University. He participated in the inaugural United Leadership Program and is a Georgia Smoke Diver.
