Schools, associations, and non-profit organizations throughout Cobb County offer a variety of training programs and customized consulting opportunities. Chattahoochee Tech Corporate Training & Consulting
Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta supports new and existing businesses with services that include corporate training, consulting, and expertise related to Georgia tax credits. Training topics are fully customizable to the client’s needs. The college also coordinates the Georgia QuickStart program in Cobb County, which grants free training to eligible businesses.

Cobb Chamber of Commerce
The Cobb Chamber of Commerce provides a number of programs and partnerships to help local businesses succeed. Programs include the Business-to-Business Expo, Business University, CEO Roundtable, and various networking events. Discount programs are also offered for reduced health insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, and office supplies. Find a local service or product by using the online business directory.

The EDGE Connection
The Edge Connection is a non-profit, small business development program housed at Kennesaw State University. The consulting and training programs are designed to support low- to moderate-income business owners, particularly home-based and single entrepreneur business ventures. The website also includes a list of helpful tools and links for business management.

Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council
The Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council identifies, certifies, and assists minority owned businesses. Customized educational programs and networking environments are also offered to certified GMSDC members.

International Trade
The International Trade team at the Georgia Department of Economic Development is administering a new grant by the Small Business Administration. The grant is designed to increase the number of small businesses in the state that are exporting. It provides both new export services and reduced fees for existing export services. Companies can also register for a Trade Opportunities Alert to receive advance notice of international trade opportunities and trade shows.

Retired executives offer free counseling to small business owners through the local SCORE chapter. Counselors from SCORE Atlanta meet with clients regularly at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the one-on-one counseling, workshops and seminars are also available.

Small Business Development Center
The SBDC office at Kennesaw State University offers free consulting and affordable training programs to Cobb County business owners. The three full-time consultants offer a broad range of expertise and can be particularly helpful for reviewing business plans and navigating the loan application process. The client-consultant relationship will often last many years as a business undergoes various challenges and growth opportunities.

Smyrna Business Association
The Smyrna Business Association is a collection of local business leaders who support each other and promote the business community. Involvement in the SBA gives area professionals access to volunteer opportunities, informative luncheons, and valuable networking sessions.
