The Work Glove Luncheon started in 1987 as a way to show special appreciation to all of the city’s outdoor employees that work hard at successfully keeping the Jonquil City clean, beautiful and thriving. The City of Smyrna and Keep Smyrna Beautiful sponsor the annual event.
Employees from various divisions are honored including Parks and Recreation, Public Works—Sanitation, Streets, the Warehouse, Building and Grounds, Water and Sewer Maintenance, and Fleet Maintenance—Recycling Center, Utilities Department, Traffic Engineering and Code Enforcement.
