The City of Smyrna has a bike share program that makes it easy and affordable to “Enjoy Smyrna Life – Ride a Bike” with the Zagster bike borrowing system.
Smyrna has invested in its trails over the years. As a result, residents and visitors have easier access to amenities such as Food Truck Tuesdays at Taylor-Brawner Park, the Silver Comet trailhead, and local restaurants. The Smyrna bike share program expands opportunities for everyone to enjoy these trails and amenities.
The Smyrna bike share program offers bike rentals from five sharing stations:
- Smyrna Public Library on the Village Green
- Taylor-Brawner Park on Atlanta Road
- Jonquil Park on Spring Road
- Concord Road Linear Park
- Concord Road at Hurt Road
There are two easy ways to join. Visit the website or download the app for iPhone and Android from iTunes or Google Play. You may also borrow bikes using SMS text messages. View the instructional video on the website.
Rides are free for the first hour. After the first hour, there is a $2/hour charge – up to $16 per ride. The bikes, called “Cruisers,” have adjustable seat heights that fit adult riders, front and rear lights for nighttime visibility, a basket for storing the “U-Lock” while you ride, seven gears that allow riders to go anywhere, and fenders and a chain guard to keep you clean while riding.
An FAQ section on the website covers topics like “Where can my Zagster bike go?” or “What do I do if my bike breaks down?” It is recommended that you review the FAQs to become familiar with obligations and requirements of membership. Wear a helmet. An ANSI certified helmet is required for all riders under 16 years of age. Helmets are recommended for all riders. Remember that users are subject to Georgia bicycle laws. Have fun!
